The photo above shows the unique design of Melia Varedero. It consists of a central open atrium with the rooms in 7 halls radiating from the atrium like petals on a flower. With this design a large number of rooms have ocean views. When we were at Melia our family was in the 3rd hall.

These 2 rooms, although on opposite sides of the hall, both have ocean views. From 3307 you can also see the pools, the beach, and in the distance Hotel Melia Las Americas and the Dupont mansion

The 3 glass elevators in the atrium
In this photo you can see the 3 glass elevators in the atrium. There are also 2 ordinary elevators on the outer side of the atrium - one between wings 3 and 4 and one between wings 4 and 5. Two of the elevators are at the 3rd floor. They do not count the lobby, ground floor, when numbering the floors. Thus there are 5 floors. The 5th floor is "The Level", an area of newly refurbished rooms that has its own Vip Bar Lounge among other perks.
